ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE FINALISTS OF THE 2nd EDITION OF THE AFRO PEPITES SHOW!

Musicians, Painters, Photographers, Sculptors, Fashion-Designers, Dancers, Actors, Story-tellers, Directors, Caribbean, SHOW,…

Wow! What an adventure!

We have woken up the artists on the Internet, widened our communication networks to get you a bunch of artists from Africa, Mixed, or Inspired by African culture.

Introduction: A second year still very rich of emotions. An extraordinary cultural journey, thanks to the Internet. A unique experience, that we advise to all the Internet users curious to discover the richness and the cultural tendencies existing in Africa and of the mixed cultures.

The 2^nd Edition opened its doors to all arts of Africa (Dance, Sculpture, Painting, Directors of short films, Actors, Slammers, Story-tellers…) and more largely to 5 other regions of the world, chosen regions representing those which had been through the biggest flow of migration, like Caribbean, Venezuela, Brazil, Cuba or Colombia. We wanted to celebrate them.

We have not been able to gather many painters, sculptors, directors, dancers, story-tellers, slammers, actors,… this year. The social networks like Myspace or Facebook do not bring us to them. That is why we are widening our network to some cultural actors based in Africa, but this takes a little bit more time. Thus, see you at the 3^rd Edition… for more rich discoveries in these categories.

Message to the Participants: first of all, thank you all for your participation, we did a pleasant cultural journey and extraordinary discoveries which, according to the AFRO PEPITES Jury of the 2^nd Edition, deserve to better live on their art.

For categories Fashion, Slam, Directors, Story-tellers, Actors and Solidarity-Based Actions, the votes will not be opened to the public, because of the low number of participants. Thus, we propose you to subscribe right now to the 3^rd Edition of the AFRO PEPITES SHOW. You can continue to talk about you, by sending us your news, that we will broadcast on our network.

For category Dance: The Teasers presented do not reveal enough to be able to judge closely to the work proposed, and as a whole are not numerous enough to propose a selection to the Internet users. If you have a conclusion to draw, it is that it is very important to be able to show a good introduction video. It is the 1^st step to meet with the organizers who will make you live. If you can manage to "touch" them in 5 minutes, you will draw their attention.

Easy to say?: Yes, because we have no doubt about the motivation and the capacity of every one, to find the right persons to do an acceptable editing. Here are some tips: even if the video is of an average quality, the best parts have to be highlighted. For those who tell a story, prefer to show a complete extract instead of few short extracts. For those for do the editing, make sure that the audio/soundtrack is matching with the video, it is very important for dance.

Because we believe in your talent and motivation to draw the attention to you, we propose to all of you to not wait and subscribe now to the 3^rd Edition of the AFRO PEPITES SHOW 2011, and until then, we will advise you to upload a 5-minute video which highlights your creation.

For those who are not finalists, the AFRO PEPITES SHOW already invites you to answer to the offers sent by email when you subscribed (Clip broadcast, digital distribution, your news on our network…) and to present yourself for the 3^rd Edition, with a new proposal.

For the Finalists: you will receive an email, but meanwhile, upload your logo and forward it to your fans. The team advises you to add it on your Myspace or Internet website. The votes are opened from November 01 until December 31, 2010 so good luck in this last step!

Message for the Internet users: This second edition offers again beautiful discoveries. We hope that you will do a pleasant cultural journey by surfing on the pages of the 12 categories opened for this 2^nd edition. You will be able to go across the cultural Africa from your home. So, free your senses by discovering the artist finalists and vote for the artists who, according to you, deserve to be known widely.

How could we start the announcement of the finalists of the 2^nd Edition without thanking our precious partners, who, throughout the 1^st Edition, increased the standing of our actions and of those of the artists who won the 1^st Edition. If this adventure means something, it is thanks to them.

A special thank to Radio AFRICA N°1 which offered us one interview per month, to VoxAfrica TV which interviewed and talked with love about some talents of the AFRO PEPITES SHOW, to AFRIK.COM which broadcasted all our key news, to STAR AFRICA, Orange portal which offered a page to each talent revealed by the AFRO PEPITES SHOW, to Radio Fréquence Evasion which offered us the interview to launch the event, to AFRICA 24 TV which came to interview the talents of the AFRO PEPITES SHOW in live show, to AFRICULTURES.COM which broadcasted some key news on their precious network & of course thanks to the Olympic Café which let us program the Festival "We are all Africans", and let us program the talents of the 1^st Edition. The Olympic Café is letting us since very recently do the programming of the auditorium on Fridays and Saturdays.

This is a great springboard for the artists of the AFRO PEPITES SHOW. Those who can be added on the program will have the possibility to benefit from the communication among the organizers to make them discover the talents nearby their place, thanks to WebTv which broadcasts the concerts in live.

But, it is also thanks to the AFRO PEPITES Jury which spent its time and used its senses to reveal new talents, thanks to the Internet Users, who showed solidarity, who bring us to new talents or cultural actors, thanks to our friends, family who support us, and of course thanks to Gwénaëlle RAVON who translated all our newsletters into English, to Christelle FIDELIS and Louise LE HEN who agitated the talents… that the association the Affrican Dream is developing. Therefore, thanks to all of you.
