In Senegal - Dakar: Singingwith Ablaye M’BAYE. Winner of the Final Showof the 1st edition
of the AFRO PEPITES SHOW:
Ablaye M'baye, his real name being
Abdoulaye Mbaye, born blind in Dakar. He is from a family of griots. The youngest child of Senegalese music is
quickly on the stage.Since he is 12 he
works withYoussou N'Dourand accompanies
him during 7 years. Ablaye has a great talent as his 5 albums issued in Senegal
(Agnés, Xalei, Maguena....) can testify. He received a golden disk with la
Mafia K'Fry for a duet with Kery James,
he is the singer of the band Ablaye & The

unites Senegal to France, composed of artists from Tarace Boulba and Désert
Rebel. A reassuring mix where everybody finds its universe…
In Senegal - Dakar : Dance with Fatou SAMB Participant of the 2nd edition of the AFRO
PEPITES SHOW:
Fatou SAMB has been dancing since she was a little girl. She
takes part in many groups, such as Sinomew
bellet managed by Mariama GOME and Thiouna NDIAYE ROSE to
learn the different traditional dances of Senegal, African dances, the National school of arts of Senegal with
Martin, Fatou Diongue and Mamadou Diop, the workshops of choreographic writing
organized by the festival kaay fecc.
Fatou participated to the musical (le cimetière des masques / the cimetery of
masks) with the company Artea managed by the choreographer Marianne Niox, worked
with Djibril Diallo choreographer of the Cie kakat’art,… . Fatou is ready to takeover
In Mali - Bamako : Ngoni/Korawith Madou Sidiki
DIABATE. Winner of the 1st Edition of the AFRO PEPITES SHOW dedicated to from music
from Sahara Africa:
Madou is part of the 71st generation of one of the geratest families of
griots and of virtuoso of kora.Madou accompanies
the famous like Cheick Tidiane Seck, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Alex
Wilson, Ras Mickeal, Paco Sery, Jean Philippe Rykiel, Daniel
Moreno, Mike Del Ferro, Tiken Jah Fakoly... He got that from
his father, who is Sidiki Diabaté (the king of kora), famous musician
from Gambia who migrated to Mali during the Independancy, from his mother Mariam
Kouyaté, great Malian griot, one of the first African singers subscribers

In Burkina Faso – Ouagadougou: Balafon with Issiaka DEMBELE Discovery of the 2nd Edition of the AFRO PEPITES SHOW:
Issiaka DEMBELE
is from a family of griots, where he has learnt since he was a child, with his
father Nitie DEMBELE, during the ceremonies for baptisms, weddings, funerals,
cabarets… Issiaka plays several
instruments, all his experiences within the association Benkadi, in the band
Kanouya du Houet, with Adama DRAME, Farafina Yelemba, Farafina Diarabi, in 2010 he won the
1st price of the Balafon competition at the Café Soudiata in Bobo
Dioulasso. Since then he was asked to join courses for rappers…www.myspace.com/africa.musique
THE COURSE, THE STAY: Touring in Senegal,
Mali and Burkina Faso
Arrival at Dakar on April 16, travel Dakar/Bamako on April 23 and 24, travel
Bamako/Burkina Faso on April 30 and May 01, 2011. Departure from
Ouagadougou on May 7
- Mondays morning: rest and discovery of
the receiving families
- Mondays afternoon: 3h course
- Tuesdays to Thurdays: 5h course per day
- Fridays: 2h course
- The Fridays afternoonare reserved for the events of the AFRO PEPITES SHOW. Those who will want to participate actively
to receive the artists will be welcome.
- Saturdays and Sundays: Changes of country,
travel. Train/Bus.
On evenings or afternoons, we will organize some artistic meetings with
famous artists. Some outings will be proposed: discovery of the local artists
in Live show, visit of the main cultural sites.
ACCOMMODATION CONDITIONS
Accommodation at the inhabitants’ of the visited
country. 2 trainees per family.
Meals at the place of the course for lunch. In
the morning and evening, the meals will be taken at the receiving families’.
During the week-ends of transit, we will eat
at the houses of locals and will sleep in some hotels.
FINANCIAL
CONDITIONS: From April 16 until May 7, 2011
Stay 21 days: 850 €
Stay 14 days 550 €
This price includes the course, the accommodation and the meals, the
transportation between the 3 main cities & the transfert from the airport to the
places of the course.
It does not include the travel by plane - return ticket. Arrival in Dakar (Senegal),
Back to Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso)
The transports to the cultural sites and the entrance to the shows of not
included in the price.
PAYMENT:
Booking after payment of the deposit (20% of the chosen stay).
The remaining sum to be paid once month before the departure.
In
case of cancellation the deposit is not reimbursed.

A detailed information will be sent to participants.
In December 2010, 2 representatives of the association « The
African Dream » will go to finalize the organization, meet with the
selected artists, create some links with the main cultural actors, to offer you
a stay rich in artistic meetings and discoveries.

A
solidarity-based stay: the funds
will be used to offer the selected AFROS PEPITES some tools to develop their artistic project (Recording album, Buying
material, Clip directing, creation of an Internet website…) thus make them more
known and better live on their art.
